Based on my book, Field Notebooks: How Scientists Record and Write About Observations, we’ll do a monthly dive into how American scientists working for the Smithsonian Institution kept notebooks to record their observations.
The scientist’s notebooks are available through the Field Book Project, but I’ve saved you hours of combing through their notebooks. Instead, I’ve selected scientists who wrote about science in interesting ways that kids can learn from and imitate.
