2026 Kids Favorites Book Award Lists

Every year the Children’s Book Council gathers books to send out to kids to read. Most children’s book awards are decided by adults.
Not this one. This time, kids read and kids choose. That makes this a special award.
It means that the lists don’t always mirror those of other awards, because these choices are filtered through kids instead of adults. A really cool award!

My favorite book on the list (from my adult POV) is Don’t Trust Fish! A hilarious book. I was glad to see that this topped the K-2 list! I agree with the kids.
